OK, I’m not an inventor, and I have never invented anything before. Actually, I am just a small business owner, having been licensed as a cosmetologist for 34 years. For the past 10 years, I’ve been having hot flashes and, in the last year, they’ve gotten more extreme, more frequent and completely unbearable. One of my girlfriends gave me one of those neck cooler things that you soak in water, and all it did was make me feel wet, clammy, and crabby! I thought there’s got to be a better way. Then I realized I need ice, and I remembered those little plastic, refreezable ice cubes that keep your drink cool without watering it down. I tried putting them into a cloth tube after freezing them, and then put that around my neck. After a little tweaking, I was eventually satisfied with the result.
The Idea Caught on, and a New Product Was Born!
From there I began to experiment with different material, trying various fabrics to match or complement the clothes I wore on any given day. Now I wear CardioCoolers every day, everywhere. People compliment me on my necklaces every time I wear them. When I tell them that they are filled with ice cubes, they are surprised and delighted–and often ask how they can get one. Most people say that they have a mom or a friend who needs them! So, I began making CardioCoolers upon request for other people. I make them all by hand and do my best to enroll my family and friends to help when they can. I’ve sold CardioCoolers at nurses symposiums, farmers markets and family expos. I hope to reach everyone who is temperature challenged like I am and experience the relief that CardioCoolers can give them. Order a CardioCooler for yourself or someone else
